This Sensory Nordic Walking Session from EcoWild is an opportunity to experience the combined benefits of walking with specially designed poles that power the upper body, giving you a full body workout.
We will spend 30 minutes covering the basic steps of Nordic Walking before heading off on our walk. As we travel across the Midsomer Norton area, mixing fields with pathways, time will be given to take in the views and surroundings.
The sensory experience section will include taking notice of what we can see, hear, smell, taste and feel, using all our senses to explore and enjoy nature.
We will maintain a steady relaxed pace, stopping for photos and, a break, weather permitting, before returning to the Somer Centre, where we will have a cooldown session and an opportunity to reflect on the walk.

Weather
Nordic Walking is an all-weather activity except for when we are experiencing high winds or lightning.
Instructions:
Please dress suitably for the weather conditions. Closer to the date you will be notified what to expect. Some basic guidelines for this time of year would be to wear waterproof shoes/boots with a good tread or lightweight boots with good ankle support if possible. Please wear or bring a few layers if you feel the cold and if rain is expected, any waterproof clothing. We would also recommend bringing a small backpack with any essentials as you will need a full range of movement around your arms and shoulders.
Please note by clicking to book you will be taken to a third party website.
