This course is run by Grow for Life, by booking a place you confirm that you are happy for us to pass your details on to them.
You will be taught basic horticultural skills and assessed for the Practical Horticulture C & G course level 1 as you work in the glasshouses. You will need to comply to covid safety measures.
This course is suitable for those who have an interest in Horticulture and would like to learn some basic skills and is aimed at adults struggling with their mental health and in recovery. You will work in a glasshouse in the Nursery, where you will be supervised to complete set tasks. Assessments are all practical and you do not need to do any written work. Topics include potting on, propagating, watering, planting and are subject to change.
Participants will need to commit to completing the full 12 sessions in order to get their certificate.
Please note: All participants need steel toe-capped work boots –you will not be allowed in without them. We will provide any tools required and give you gloves for your own use. Once you have booked a place you will be required to meet with a staff member of Grow for Life before being accepted. You are welcome to arrange a time to visit the current course to see what it’s like before you register.
