Thank you for visiting the Wellbeing College website. We hope that you find it informative, helpful and easy to use.
We are here to guide you and support you to improve your wellbeing, whatever stage you are at. We have gathered together lots of information about courses, activities and groups that are happening around Bath and North East Somerset to support people’s wellbeing. We hope that you will find something here that interests you, whether it be a one-off activity or a longer term course spread over several weeks. Most of our courses are free and are offered to B&NES residents who are aged 16 and over, or people who are registered with a GP in B&NES.
If you feel rather overwhelmed by the number of courses to choose from why not give us a ring and one of our advisers will help guide you to make an informed choice.
If you would like some 1:1 support and guidance we can offer you a free Wellbeing Advice session. Our adviser can meet up with you for an informal chat at a suitable location near to where you live.

If you haven't tried Tai Chi and you feel as though you would like to do something for your wellbeing we can recommend a trip to Greyfield Woods in High Littleton. Amidst the trees and with a roaring log fire for comfort you can follow Huw who shows everyone the ancient movements of Tai Chi. You will feel more relaxed, have improved energy and a sense of wellbeing after your session outdoors. Read more to see what one of our participants has said about it.
Thank you for offering the Woodland Tai Chi classes! I've regularly been taking part in the sessions since July.
I'm suffering from chronic health problems. I've had ME for over 30 years. Whereas conventional medicine has very little to offer for this debilitating illness, practising Tai Chi has very noticeably improved my health. My balance is much better, my energy levels have gone up considerably and my memory problems, mental exhaustion and difficulties with co-ordination have almost disappeared.
During and after Huw's Tai Chi sessions I can feel my energy increasing, my balance improving...
Huw's Woodland Tai Chi sessions are absolutely unique. As an acupuncturist he is able to teach us to work with the Chi/energy flow in a very effective and focused way, passing on his knowledge. This will be of lasting benefit to us all. His experience in teaching mindfulness meditation is making this 'Mindfulness in movement' class into a very special experience indeed.
Practising Tai Chi in the woods adds the element of 'nature therapy' to it. Last Saturday, on a rainy, grey and miserable winter day I realised just how incredibly beneficial these sessions are. I went to the woods
feeling quite low and depressed but soon felt energised and happy! As we were sitting around the fire for a tea break and chatting to each other I observed the same reaction in the other participants as well.
